Vintage Machine Works turns any machine into a tool for humans and agents.

Why

When I bought my ABB industrial robot which is about 25 years old now, I had quite some issues actually controlling it. So I wrote my own control software from scratch.

At some point I realized that this is probably not the only machine, that could profit from a similar approach. This is why i created Vintage Machine Works. A framework that allows me to spin up a backend and frontend for all my old machines.

And why stop at the user interface? AI agents are the next generation of automation, and Vintage Machine Works is a framework that allows you to build AI-native machine interfaces.

What

Vintage Machine Works is an AI-native framework that turns any physical hardware, equipment and service into first-class digital citizens.

It serves as an abstraction layer between humans, AI agents and other machines to allow

• using production machinery in modern environments
• implementing AI agents in real production workflows

The framework provides out-of-the-box:

• an easy to build abstraction layer to make state and functions accessible
• generative interfaces to visualize machine state
• a simple cloud solution to save and querey state over time
